Project description
In the multimedia-based cooperation project BAZAR, the involved artists look into the cultural meaning of sampling. From traditional Siberian songs, Walt Disney films on up to Eurasian fusion food – everything can be copied. But what does it mean that everything is available as a copy in a globalized and increasingly digitalized world? What is original, what is fake? Or is everything a remix, as the video artist Kirby Fergusson asserts? Two artists each from Morocco and Germany research and develop a spatial installation together. It will be shown in the context of the Supercopy – Festival of Sampling Cultures and established as a long-term installation before finally being presented in Morocco.
